PERFORMANCES   AND   EXPERIENCE

NIRVANA formed in 1986 has done more than 500 shows in India and abroad -- believe it or not!!! Nirvana plays for both rock concerts and dance parties.

At ROCK CONCERTS Nirvana could blow your brains out with powerful covers of bands like Deep Purple, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Queen, Doors, Pink Floyd, Led Zep, Dire Straits, Scorpions, G&R, Doobie Brothers, Clapton, Bob Marley, Genesis, etc. There's no youngsters' den that we haven't invaded, which includes most of the major campuses in India.

On the other hand, at DANCE PARTIES and CORPORATE SHOWS Nirvana sticks to cool, trendy and danceable pop and rock 'n' roll. That's why we were selected to play for some of the most prestigious parties in town like the Hash Bash, the Marine Balls, British High Commission Christmas Shows, etc. That's why we have been chosen to play New Years and Christmas shows for the last 10 years in Kathmandu's best hotels and casinos.

To name some more of our valued clients, they are SRCC, Hansraj, Stephen's, Ramjas, Sushant School of Arch., IP College, AIIMS, IMI, TIETS Patiala, JNU, BITS Bhiwani, IIPM, GMC-Patiala, IT-Roorkee, Friends of Music, Times FM, the American, Austrian, British and Canadian missions, Everest and Royale Casinos in Nepal, etc. Places played at: Delhi, Bombay, Goa, Nasik, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Patiala, Shimla, Agra, Pilani, Nepal (almost 10 times) and Korea, etc.

Nirvana plays at all kinds of events -- from stadium rock concerts to small private events (that's the difference between us and some conceited bands).

Nirvana also has the distinction of having scored and performed the music for several popular stage musicals, including Steve Marazzi's "The Lion King" and Madhu Sagar's "The Wizard of Oz."

From its inception, the band has been musically led and guided by Desmond Powell and Daniel; wheeling and dealing (contracts) is done mostly by Raja.

Some recent memorable gigs: Pulse AIIMS festival; Microsoft Channel Summit '99; Apeejay Institute of Management festival 1999; Friends of Music concert in April 99 and gigs for American Express; Oracle; YWCA; Foreign Correspondents Club; American Business Council; Medidyne; Modi Xerox, LML, Businessworld, U.S. Embassy, etc.
